Key Achievements

Initiatives and achievements led by the Abhay Khand Federation and local residents

Organizational Unity & Roadmap

Federation Annual Meeting

The Federation held a significant annual meeting that unified 42 RWAs under one banner. This meeting was crucial for establishing a "roadmap" for future development, including park beautification, sewer maintenance, and better security systems.

Legal Intervention & Advocacy

High Court Victory

The Abhay Khand Federation filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding the deteriorating civic conditions. The High Court held the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) responsible and ordered them to meet with federation members to resolve issues within three weeks.

Environmental & Green Belt Protection

Protest Against Liquor Shop

The Federation led a massive protest involving residents from over 50 societies against the opening of a liquor shop in the Green Belt area of Nyay Khand 1. They successfully argued that it was too close to residential areas, religious sites, and schools.

Stopping the Dumping Yard

Residents and the RWA vehemently opposed the construction of a garbage dumping yard in the Green Belt of Abhay Khand-3. They staged protests citing health risks and potential traffic jams on the highway, demanding the GDA remove it immediately.

Infrastructure & Water Supply

New Tubewell Installation

Successfully initiated the installation of a large tubewell in Ward 79 to resolve the water crisis for approximately 6,000 families across Abhay Khand 1, 2, 3, 4, Patrakar Vihar, and Gaur Vista.

Road Cleaning & AQI Improvement

The Municipal Corporation started a drive to remove dust from roads in Kaushambi to improve the Air Quality Index (AQI), a move welcomed by the RWA.

Water Quality Battles

Fight Against Contaminated Water

Residents of Abhay Khand 1 staged a protest at the Municipal Corporation office regarding the supply of dirty, sewer-mixed drinking water, threatening agitation if pipelines were not repaired within 48 hours.

Proactive Water Testing Drive

To prevent health crises (referencing a tragedy in Indore), the community coordinated with health officials and self-help groups to collect and test water samples from various spots to ensure safety.

Campaigns Against Encroachment ("Halla Bol")

Protests Against Illegal Mobile Towers

The federation launched the "Halla Bol" campaign to protest the illegal installation of mobile towers on cycle tracks and footpaths in Abhay Khand 3, citing health hazards and traffic congestion.

Removal of Encroachment

GDA removed illegal shops and encroachments near the Milan Vihar-1 gate and the electric transformer in Abhay Khand 3 following repeated complaints from residents.

Safety & Community Engagement

NBT Suraksha Kavach Sabha

Residents and federation members participated in a safety meeting with police officials (SP City Second Gyanendra Singh) to discuss security issues, cybercrime, and police verification.

Honoring Talent

The community organized events to honor talented daughters of the society, promoting a positive social environment.

Enhanced Security Measures

Police Verification Drive

Federation officials held a strategic meeting with the Abhay Khand Chowki In-charge to discuss security. A key decision was made to create a register and make police verification mandatory for street vendors and temporary shopkeepers.

Pandemic Response & Health Safety

COVID-19 Sanitization Demands

Amid rising concerns over increasing Corona cases in Abhay Khand 1, 2, 3, and 4, RWA officials actively appealed to residents to wear masks and demanded sanitization drives and testing camps.

Civic Awareness Drives

Handover Demands

Organized rallies and signature campaigns demanding the handover of the Indirapuram colony from GDA to the Municipal Corporation to ensure better maintenance of roads, sewers, and parks.

Media Advocacy on Systemic Neglect

Highlighting Ward 79's "Identity Crisis"

A specific media campaign highlighted that Ward 79 had become "identified" by its encroachment, traffic jams from weekly markets, and broken roads. This report was a key part of pressuring authorities by publicly shaming the lack of civic amenities.
